With the muscle of the world's largest car-maker behind it, the Volkswagen ID 3 could be the biggest thing to happen to the electric car yet.

Based on an all-new model platform dedicated to electric cars, the ID 3 will be available with a choice of three battery packs, the largest of which should give it range of almost 350 miles.

Road test editor Matt Saunders went to VW's headquarters in Wolfsburg to drive a prototype, ahead of it going on sale in the UK in spring 2020. Find out his first impressions on the highly anticipated model in this video.

Interesting video, being a petrol fan I'm trying hard to keep an open mind about electric cars, this looks like an interesting contender. Still hoping we'll see the answer to the range question soon. oh and please is it possible to make an ev without woefull wheels.
