Here it is, then, the most luxurious off-roader in the world. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a big, bold (oh my, is it bold) 4x4 weighing in at 2.7 tonnes.

Rolls-Royce wants it to be the most luxurious off-roader in the world. It's more expensive than its rivals - only the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus get close - and is packed with lavish trim and equipment.

And we've tested it, on-road and off. Join us inside the Cullinan for a smooth, quiet ride.

Only the Bentayga makes a better impression of a caricature of an overgrown London Taxi on steroids. I think I am going to need new retinae soon.

Oh dear.

Well, am I wrong?, unless you have a private Jet always on standby, several Houses around the Globe, then yes, you’re not going to Blanche at the thought of putting this “House” on Wheels in to a little light off roading...?

Is the meter standard?

Like the Stelvio and many other current designs, its the side elevation thats fails the Cullinan.

Most car manufacturers have managed to establish a strong frontal identity, but very few can style the side view successfully.

Who was responsible for designing this ugly beyond belief thing?

Ah well, whoever said rich folk had taste?

It my well be a car that you can drive 800 miles and get out without any problem, but I'd suggest most owners of this car are more likely to drive it 8miles to their nearest private airfield to undertake such a trip and the only 'off-road' experience will be the speed humps in the aitport car park.

70/30 split between bench and individual rear seats - did RR say how many of these things they've sold? Would also be interesting to see where most of the customers are based - North America, Middle East, Asia or Hackney?

It proves that the market centre of gravity has moved to the east.

Clearly completely wonderful interior - excellent refinement married to reasonable handling, one wonders if it can be made to run on methane, would sort of alleviate most environmental concerns as well as lowering running costs helluva lot, as long as methane is tax exempt. --The exterior has been growing on me. Not quite pretty. But the essentially simple lines I reckon inherently superior to the share uglyness of Bentayga.
