The charity event has been held since 1950 and nowadays forms part of the Monterey Car Week, which also includes auctions, the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca and a high-end car show called The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

But it's not just rare classic and vintage machines that make the headlines at Pebble Beach. The concours has also become a popular location for the world's top luxury and sports car makers to launch new production models and concepts, such as the special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, pictured here, that premiered at The Quail in 2012.
